Work
How would you define work?
Everything is considered work. Work does not begin with earning wages or your first paycheck. Here are a few questions to consider.
Are you working towards a purpose?
Are you putting your hands to good use?
How are you serving others?
Each day there is an assignment. Something that needs tending to. Someone who needs help. Moving forward with discipline and diligence.
Are you careful concerning matters? We do not make haste but instead take careful consideration. God has not left us alone to do things on our own. He has a plan and a purpose dedicated to you.
What work are you called to do? When God puts something on your heart, be obedient to that word. He is faithful to produce. Every thing that we have comes from Him. So, we steward our gifts well and give God all His glory.
The Apostle Paul shares this in the first letter of 1 Corinthians 12:
“For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; 9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another gifts of healing by the same Spirit; 10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:”
- 1 Corinthians 12:8-10
I’ve come to realize that each day I am working. Getting things in order at home. Carrying other’s burdens.
Why am I writing this? Because I’ve been heavy. I’ve been talked down on. Starting to feel bad about my own choices was not good. But, believing in the God who created me changes everything for my good.
Bible verses for you:
“The thoughts (plans) of the diligent tend (lead surely) only to plenteousness; but of every one that is hasty only to want (surely to poverty).”
- Proverbs 21:5
“Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; 7 Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching; 8 Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity (liberality); he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.” - Romans 12:6-8
God Bless You!

Hi sis,
I’m sorry to read of the challenges you have faced. I can relate to people talking negatively about you and mistreatment. Remember that whatever has been said to you does NOT define who you are or your worth. I know it’s hard, but stay strong and close to the Lord. May He strengthen you through the challenging times you’re faced with. Also, remember Ephesians 6:12. Spiritual warfare is real. Gotta continue fighting because the enemy is determined to do anything and everything to keep us distant from the Heavenly Father.
And yes, we must use the gift(s) God has blessed us with to do good works. Delayed obedience is still disobedience. This is something I’ve been trying to remind myself of lately. There’s some projects I’ve been trying to work on but….life keeps getting in the way. Also, I’m not in the best head space. I’m just staying in prayer and trusting God will guide me through this. Like you said, if God’s leading you to do something, it’s for a reason. May He help us to fight against our feelings and fulfill our calling.
God bless you sis and don’t give up! Remember there’s nothing too big for our God. We are overcomers through Christ!
Good to see you are back writing! I think Satan has been working overtime to discourage us as we go forth to serve the LORD and share the good news!
You are a great writer and encourager! Have a blessed day!
